Convey.sg handles personal data in connection with its operations and its support of law firms. This page sets out the basis on which Convey.sg collects, uses, discloses, protects and retains personal data under its PDPA policy.
Personal data is collected, used and disclosed only where reasonably necessary for the relevant operational, legal, security or business purposes.
Where Convey.sg supports law firms, personal data may be handled to enable Convey.sg to provide services to those organisations.
Reasonable security arrangements are maintained to protect personal data against unauthorised access, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks.
This Policy applies to organisations and individuals who provide Convey.sg with personal data, or where personal data is otherwise collected, used or disclosed by Convey.sg in connection with its operations or where required by law. This Policy supplements, and does not supersede, any consent previously provided to Convey.sg or a third party organisation.
For this Policy, “PDPA” means the Personal Data Protection Act 2012, as amended from time to time. “Personal Data” means data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified from that data, or from that data and other information to which Convey.sg has or is likely to have access.
“Organisation” includes any individual, company, association or body of persons, whether corporate or unincorporated. “Personnel” includes individuals engaged under a contract of service or contract for service with Convey.sg, including permanent or temporary employees, trainees and interns.
Depending on the nature of the interaction with Convey.sg, personal data collected, used or disclosed may include:
Convey.sg may collect personal data when individuals interact with Convey.sg personnel by telephone, video call, email, correspondence or face-to-face meetings; visit Convey.sg premises; respond to requests for information; are referred by business partners or third parties; attend events; submit job applications; subscribe to publications; or otherwise submit personal data in the ordinary course of business operations.
Convey.sg may collect, use or disclose personal data for purposes including:
Unless otherwise permitted or authorised under the PDPA or applicable law, Convey.sg will not collect, use or disclose personal data without consent. Convey.sg may collect, use or disclose personal data without consent in circumstances permitted under the PDPA, including where data is publicly available, required for investigations, necessary for legal services or legal advice, provided by another organisation to enable Convey.sg to provide services to that organisation, or used for legitimate interests or business improvement purposes permitted under the PDPA.
Individuals who voluntarily provide personal data, use Convey.sg websites or computer networks, enter Convey.sg premises, or participate in Convey.sg events are deemed to have agreed and consented to the collection, use and disclosure of their personal data in the manner and for the purposes set out in this Policy.
In carrying out the relevant purposes, Convey.sg may disclose personal data to third party service providers or agents, external vendors providing services in partnership or collaboration with Convey.sg, auditors and professional advisors, persons to whom disclosure is permitted or required by law, permitted assigns, and local or foreign regulatory bodies, government agencies, statutory boards, ministries or public authorities.
Individuals who wish to withdraw consent, request access to personal data, obtain information about how personal data has been or may have been used or disclosed, or update or correct personal data should contact Convey.sg’s Data Protection Officer in writing at dpo@convey.sg.
Withdrawal of consent may affect Convey.sg’s ability to provide services and does not affect Convey.sg’s right to continue processing personal data where permitted or required under applicable laws. Convey.sg may charge a reasonable fee for handling or processing access requests where permitted under the PDPA.
Convey.sg makes reasonable security arrangements to prevent unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks to personal data in its possession.
Where personal data is transferred outside Singapore, Convey.sg will take reasonable steps to ensure that the transferred personal data receives a standard of protection comparable to the protection under the PDPA. Convey.sg will also require third parties receiving personal data to protect it consistently with this Policy and use it only for specified purposes.
Convey.sg may retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable laws.
